POSTCARD FROM THAILAND
International
Didier SOULIGNAC and Melodie LeLENDU, ISEG Program SUP 4 Bordeaux are completing their "Stage" in Thailand. Their "Responsable Pedagogique" Jacqui Garcia was delighted to receive their news recently....Dear Khun Jacqui Garcia
Khun is a mark of respect here.
Already one month since we have been living in Thailand, and it is way easier than we imagined.
Firstly, life here is very easy for expatriates, even if we don't have a huge salary; it is enough because the cost of living here is very low. Keep in mind that companies here can't offer higher salaries because what we have already is a important salary for a Thai worker.
Melodie and I are living in an apartment in downtown Bangkok, close to the biggest road of Thailand (Sukhumvit). So we have everything that we want. Stores, entertainment places, body massage salon, International restaurants...
Every Week end we are trying to discover the country more and more as it is one of the most popular places to go on on vacation. We went to Hua Hin (Balnear City) and Ko Samet and we also saw lots of amazings things in Bangkok such as the Grand Palace and a wild elephant on the road back to our hotel.
We are having some good times but of course we are working too!
(Didier) I am working as in Insurance Broker for a French company doing business in Asia and mainly working with expatriates. My mission is to develop a partnership with most of the Thai Hospitals, more than 400+. The good part is that Thai are not very comfortable doing business on the phone or by mails, so I will have to visit some of them. My company is just starting its business, so I'm learning to work by myself. My boss only gave the objectives of my internship, now I have to create everything from the beginning.
"A la rentrée"
Didier and Melodie
